This is the first recipe that I've made having found on pinterest, though I have oodles saved. It's originally from Taste of Home, and I've had some luck with their recipes before so I didn't hesitate to try it.
Remember when I posted the chocolate "timbit" recipe that my kids went ape for? Add this to the same category! I will have to remember to pick up a box from Tim Hortons to see if I can fool my kids if I make a variety of these - and maybe even fool my husband too.
1 1/3 cups flour
1 cup Rice Krispies, coarsely crushed2 Tblsp sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt1/4 cup butter-flavored shortening
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon1/4 cup butter, melted
Mix flour, crushed cereal, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until it looks like coarse crumbs. (I did this with two forks, but I'm thinking the food processor would make this really fast next time) Stir in milk until just moistened. Roll dough into 1 inch balls (I think I got 35?). Combine cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar. Dip balls into melted butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on a silpat or parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 425` degrees for 15-18 minutes.
