I found this recipe via Pinterest, and I had to try it because I didn't understand how it would work. You end up with a thick jello layer that settles to the bottom, and a light marshmallow layer that rises to the top. My kids (and their friends) went absolutely bananas for these! I'm a little wierded out by the texture of them because it's like nothing else I've ever eaten...but I love that they only took me 5 minutes to make, and you can make them any colour or flavour that you like to match a holiday or a themed party.
1 package of jello (any flavour)
1/2 C warm water
12 marshmallows
Spray an 8-inch pan with non-stick spray.
Pour warm water in to a large microwave-safe bowl, and stir the jello to dissolve. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Add the marshmallows and stir to coat, then microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. The marshmallows will be puffy and soft. Stir the marshmallows to dissolve. Pour into prepared pan and refrigerate several hours until completely set.
Once set, slide a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the jello from the sides, and slide it out on to a cutting board. (You won't believe me until you try it, but you can literally pick it up and hold it like a sheet of paper) It will look like this...
And if you are wild and crazy, you can lay a second "sheet" of jello in a different colour on top...
Starting at one end, roll tightly like cinnamon buns.Cut in to spiral slices and chill until serving.
