Stir Fry Sauce

I usually throw stir-fries together willy-nilly without a recipe. My random concoctions for sauce usually leave a little to be desired. I figured that, for once, I'd use a recipe. A google search led me to several recipes, including this one that I decided to make. It was really flavourful without over-powering the veggies and chicken I tossed it with. I'll be using this recipe again.

1/3 cup chicken stock
2 Tbsp fish sauce
1 Tbsp lime juice
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp honey
2 tsp corn starch dissolved in 4 Tbsp water
1 tsp chili sauce
Place everything but cornstarch/water in a sauce pan. Cook over medium-high heat until it begins to bubble. Add cornstarch/water and reduce heat to medium-low. Stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Set aside, and add to your stir-fry in the last few minutes of cooking time.

A tip from the original recipe may be useful when you are trying to create your own sauce. "You're looking for a balance of salty (fish sauce), spicy (garlic and chili), sour (lime), and sweet (sugar). Adjust these flavors to suit your taste."
